For the longest time, I’ve been choosing temporary aesthetics over the bigger picture. I used to have my hair rebonded, colored, and bleached every so often that all these chemicals on top of each other made the strands really, really damaged.

And so, two to three years ago, I’ve decided to cut back on hair rebonding which left my hair so buhaghag ever since, and I’m telling you, the volume is unbelievable. I couldn’t skip coloring, though, because of my salt and pepper hair. Also, I made a very bad decision before to dye black so when I got tired of the boring hue, it took me two freaking bleaching sessions to wash away the darkness and at least have a brown-ish color. Fast forward to present: my hair is still frizzy af.

I knew that more chemicals will not do me any good. And so, from being a Dove girl for so many years, I ditched their shampoo and conditioner for something sulfur-free and with less alcohol, sodium, etc. At the same time, I learned about this hype about Argan oil and how it accordingly nurses dry hair back to health.

After weeks of searching online and reading reviews, I finally found this local line of organic products called Be Organic Bath & Body that carries exactly what I’m looking for: Argan oil-based shampoo and conditioner. (All thanks to Beauty MNL)

I’ve been using both for about two months now and I must say, I’m pretty impressed! Scroll down for a more detailed review.

Speaking of Argan oil, I also read somewhere that applying the oil directly to the strands of your hair does wonder. I initially looked for 100% pure Argan oil but I found out that it’s so expensive! Imagine, a 15ml bottle can cost more or less 800 pesos. And so, I settled on The Body Shop’s Wild Argan Oil which costs slightly higher but the bottle is way bigger.

That’s it for these Argan oil-based hair care products I’ve been using for the past few months. Please keep in mind that my experiences do not speak on behalf of the products’ total effectiveness since a lot of factors come in. It’s still best to try them for yourself!

Let me know if you have questions!

Stay sunny,
