5 must-try restaus in the metro

On the hunt for a new place where you and your friends can just eat and chill? If you’re looking for something new to try or simply want a different ambiance than your usual hang out place, here’s a list to get you started.

Relik Restaurant and Bar

While it’s known for its laidback ambiance for chill drinks, diners also visit Relik for its good meals.  It is a new hip and trendy place with a homey feel and cozy interiors that aims to provide a break from the ultra modern clubbing scene. A visit here won’t be complete without trying their Carbonara (P235), Slow Roasted Beef Belly (P425), and S’mores Pizza (P189). For drinks, try their Mojito which is available in classic, lychee, and mango.

Toast Asian Kitchen and Tasting Room

Satisfy your cravings for Asian cuisine in this “retro in the metro”-themed restaurant in Pasig. Toast Asian Kitchen and Tasting Room serves a wide array of playful dishes that burst with flavors and spices. Make sure to try their Longganisa Pasta (P349), Twice Cooked Pork w/ Salted Egg Fried Rice (P 475), and Wagyu Cubes Yakitori (P175). For the record, they serve the best wagyu cubes I’ve ever tasted!

They also have a great selection of signature cocktails to try. My personal fave is Jack Sparrow (P235).

Eleven Tables

True to its name, this gastro-bar only has eleven tables. The place is perfect for those who want to wine and dine as they serve really good food, such as Bacon Cheddar Cheese Fondue (P420) and Mixed Cold Cuts & Cheese Platter w/ Sausage (P550). Plus, they have this wine-all-you-can promo for only 500 pesos that will unleash the tita in you!

Don’t miss their S’mores (P300) too!

Wicked Kitchen

This restaurant is serving all things wicked! And by wicked, I meant, really good food, from savory dishes to sweet desserts! Their bestsellers include Bangers n Mash (P202) and Bagoong Rice (P 189). Wicked Kitchen is also known for their desserts which are named after the seven deadly sins. Make sure to order Greed (P 188) and Gluttony (P325)!

And before I forget, you might want to try their Ex’s Lasagna and Rebound Lasagna!

The Wild Poppy

If you and your friends want a laid back, welcoming and vibrant ambiance where the food is as Instagram-worthy as the place, then The Wild Poppy is definitely the restaurant to go to. It’s a total catch amidst the busy Red Light District of Makati. They house delectable Asian food from Chinese to Korean.

I highly recommend the Hoi, Belly! Bun (P140), Pok-pok Bites (P140), and Kim and Reuben (P290). If you’re up for drinks, check out The Naughty Pirate (P190) and Cucumber Frost (P190).
