Were you at Satchmi’s Vinyl Day last Saturday?
Satchmi has always been one of my favorite nooks in the city. Their space at Megamall is very cozy and artsy, espresso shots and cookies are available at the counter, self-help books are compiled waiting to be read and the ambient music is always, always good. There are two listening rooms where you can play vinyl records using the Motorino FOR FREE! (I love playing music there while I’m still saving up for my own player.) Aside from records across all destinations and ages and local indie albums (tide/edit, Ourselves the Elves, Clara Benin, etc.), they are also selling indoor plants, Happy Socks, notebooks, postcards and other artisanal stuff.
Since I love Satchmi so much, it’s no surprise that I was present at their most anticipated event every year – #VinylDay.
Local indie artists and bands performed, such as Chocolate Grass, Jensen and the Flips, Taken by Cars, Moonwlk, Curtissmith, Reese Lansangan and a lot more.
Of course, BP Valenzuela, my second favorite person in the whole wide world and as you well know, a former Satchmi barista was there too. I can still remember dropping by Satchmi just to talk to her. (Hehehe)
Here’s a picture with my constant local indie scene buddies, EJ and Leif. Also, hi to Krizel and April, batch mates who I regularly see on gigs.
Finally, Ransom Collective ended the night with their dance-y, festive songs. Would love to attach a video but apparently, you can’t do that on a free plan.
Here’s a link of TRC’s SoundCloud, if you want to give it a try. Who knows? We might see each other on 2017’s Vinyl Day. Have fun!
